Recent poor results against Manchester City and Liverpool have Manchester United fans furious with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with many calling for the Norweigan to be sacked.
Whether Solskjaer will remain in place til Christmas remains to be seen but the festive period is always crucial in the Premier League, with a raft of fixtures packed close together while most of the nation is on a festive break.

On 18 December, United host Brighton at home for a 12.30pm kick-off. It’s games like these United need to win, with Brighton currently snapping at their heels in the league table. Graham Potter has got Brighton playing very good football this season, including with a draw at Anfield. A side that always creates chances, they could easily breach what has proved to be a vulnerable back line this season. The game is on BT Sport 1HD and BT Sport Ultimate.
United get a respite on Boxing Day but then play three times in nine days. Firstly, they travel to Newcastle on 27 December for an 8pm kick-off.
The Toon will be facing both Manchester clubs in the space of a week and on current form, it will be hard to envisage anything other than a Red Devils win for this one. You can watch it live on Sky Sports.
On 30 December, Burnley visit Old Trafford for an 8.15pm game. The Clarets have struggled so far this season so it’s another that United will hope for three points from, if they can contain Burnley’s presence upfront. You can catch the game via Prime Video.
