Manchester City are expected to be without Kyle Walker for their Champions League group stage game against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday evening.

The experienced full-back was not spotted in training on Tuesday morning and is now likely to miss Wednesday’s game due to injury.

Walker, who is a regular for the Sky Blues at right-back, was substituted late-on in City’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on September 3 after suffering a knock.

He also missed the Sky Blues’ 4-0 win over Sevilla last week in their Champions League opener.

However, one a positive note, Aymeric Laporte was spotted in full training and took part in the session.

The centre-back hasn’t featured for City so far this season after suffering a knee injury at the latter stages of last campaign, which required surgery in the summer.

He was a regular in Pep Guardiola’s side in the Sky Blues’ Premier League title-winning season last time out, making 44 appearances in all competitions and scoring four goals.

His return will be a huge boost for Guardiola, who has had a season full of injuries to defenders, including Nathan Ake, John Stones and Walker.

Stones was also seen training after he didn’t feature in City’s win over Sevilla due to a minor injury and could be part of Guardiola’s plans on Wednesday.

The Englishman, who has provided two assists so far this season, has played a rotational role with Ake and deadline day signing Manuel Akanji in recent games, especially with the absence of Laporte.
