Manchester City proudly paraded the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League trophies around the streets of Manchester on Monday evening.

The Blues’ players and staff, some of whom looked a little worse for wear, were in jubilant spirits as they slowly made their way through the city centre on the team bus, while even the torrential rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of the fans who were seeing their treble-winners for the first time since returning from Istanbul.

The adverse weather conditions did mean the parade had to be delayed by around half an hour, while the players only appeared on stage for around 15 minutes. But it was still an event for fans to savour, as they showed their appreciation to just the second-ever treble-winners in English football history. Below, we’ve rounded up a few things that could have passed fans by…

Travelling in style

The players arrived at their startpoint in typical Manchester style as the players all boarded a tram and made the journey to Deansgate before getting on the bus. It’s a rare sight to see anyone famous on a tram in the city centre, let alone a carriage packed full of treble-winners.

Of course, the tram was reserved for the players, and members of the public didn’t seem to be on board as well.

Stealing the show

As always, Jack Grealish was the star man during the evening. He stumbled onto the tram, and was later filmed begging Bernardo Silva not to leave the team.

As he arrived at the buses, the 27-year-old, wearing a luminous high-vis jacket, was seen dancing for fans and trying to whip up the crowd, while he had champagne poured over his head by Erling Haaland when finally onboard the bus.

Keeping up traditions

As is customary for end-of-season celebrations, Pep Guardiola was seen puffing away on a cigar on the team bus. It’s the third year in a row the Catalan has celebrated winning the title in this manner, but the addition of the FA Cup and Champions League mean it really was a moment to savour for the City boss.

Sliding in

City’s legendary kitman Brandon Ashton has become something of an internet sensation when the team win a trophy as he slides topless on his belly across the soaking floor of the dressing room. The biblical rain during the parade provided perfect conditions for him to repeat that trick, and Ashton’s first action on stage was to slide over on his stomach.

Phillips’ mic drop

Kalvin Philips hasn’t always been the man to take the limelight this season, but he did on the stage following the parade. The ex-Leeds United man grabbed the microphone and performed the John Stones chant before calling Grealish a turkey and then pouring a drink into his team-mate’s mouth. The City fans certainly enjoyed it and roared their approval.
