Man City first summer deal could reach £59m as 'offer on the way' for second signing who has 'agreed personal terms'

Manchester City will look to put a disappointing 2024-25 campaign behind them as they prepare for the FIFA Club World Cup later this month.
Pep Guardiola’s side are one of two Premier League teams in the tournament, with Chelsea also competing. The pair are the last two English sides to have won the UEFA Champions League, which has helped earn their spot in the Club World Cup.

Guardiola has the chance to add to his side ahead of the tournament with the transfer window open for 10 days between June 1 and June 10 to allow clubs competing at the Club World Cup to add to their squads.
Man City agree deal for Tijjani Reijnders
The big news on Wednesday was that City had agreed a deal with AC Milan for Tijjani Reijnders. The 26-year-old will sign a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium with the initial cost of the move just over £46m.
Midfielder Kevin de Bruyne is not expected to be involved in the Club World Cup despite still being under contract at City. He is out of contract at the end of June and is set to join Napoli on a free transfer. Mateo Kovacic is also out with injury, so Reijnders move - which is subject to a medical - will be key for City.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed the deal could rise to £59m if certain clauses are met. He reported on X: “The agreement between Man City and AC Milan for Tijjani Reijnders is worth €57m as fixed fee. It could go up to €65m (£54.75m) with easy add-ons and eventually €70m (£59m) with difficult add-ons.”

Hide AdMan City ‘offer soon’ for Rayan Cherki
Lyon star Rayan Cherki is attracting interest from the Premier League but City appear to be leading the chase for his signature. Fabrizio Romano has reported that the player has agreed personal terms with City.
Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has further reported that it is likely the contract will be a five-year deal. He reported on X: “Rayan Cherki has decided to join Manchester City. Personal terms were never an issue. Talks about a contract until 2030. An offer from Man City is on its way. The player’s camp is hoping for a quick agreement. The price valuation is €35–40 million.”
Cherki has just one year left on his deal at Lyon, and does not appear willing to pen fresh terms with the French club. It means the Ligue 1 outfit, who are facing financial difficulties, will have to sell him this summer.
