Manchester City have been linked with a £30million move for Brighton and Hove Albion full-back Marc Cucurella.

The Daily Mail have reported Pep Guardiola has identified the Spain international as a key solution to his issues on the left-hand side of his defence.

The 24-year-old joined the Seagulls from La Liga club Getafe last summer and has been a consistent figure for Graham Potter’s side as they challenge for a top-half finish in the Premier League table.

Brighton would be looking to at least double the £14.5million they paid for Cucurella, who was recently named as the club’s player of the year and players’ player of the year.

The report also suggested Guardiola will look to add a midfielder to his squad.

City striker in ‘no hurry’ to decide next move

Not for the first time this season, City striker Gabriel Jesus has been linked with a move to Premier League rivals Arsenal.

The Brazilian international is said to be keen to remain in the Premier League if he should leave the Etihad Stadium this summer and it is believed the Gunners have already ‘initiated positive talks’ with the striker.

The Sun have suggested the player’s agents are not willing to rush through any deal - but did indicate Arsenal’s hopes of landing Jesus remain alive despite their chances of securing Champions League football being greatly reduced by Monday night’s defeat at Newcastle.

Clubs in Germany, Spain and Italy are also believed to be monitoring his situation at City.

City star refutes Real Madrid speculation

City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has rejected speculation he is set to join Real Madrid after he was pictured in the Spanish capital earlier this week.

There have been reports the Germany international could leave the Etihad this summer as he enters the final 12 months of his current deal.

There were claims Gundogan had taken a private jet to Madrid to open negotiations with the La Liga champions - but Gundogan has revealed his trip abroad was taken for a more personal reason.

The midfielder has married his partner, Arfaoui, and a joint-post on Instagram confirmed the news.
