The 24-year-old Manchester City goalkeeper has left the England camp after picking up an injury, the national team has confirmed.

While the extent and injury type has yet to be confirmed, the Lionesses stopper will miss tomorrow’s Finalissima against Brazil at a sold out Wembley and the forthcoming international fixture with Australia, which takes place at Brentford Community Stadium.

She becomes the second Cityzens star to withdraw from their national squad this week after Alanna Kennedy was forced out of the Australia squad with injury on Monday. Several City players will be in action over the course of the week though, with Lionesses stars Lauren Hemp, Ellie Roebuck, Esme Morgan, Alex Greenwood, Chloe Kelly, Jess Park and Hayley Raso (Australia) all likely to feature for their national sides.

No replacement will be called up, meaning Wiegman’s side go into the double header with MacIver’s club team mate Roebuck, Manchester United’s Mary Earps and the recalled Hannah Hampton as their three goalkeeping options for the games.

The injury will be a blow to the City ‘keeper though, with the games representing the Lionesses final tests before the summer tournament and MacIver hoping to solidify her place as one of the three goalkeepers that are likely to head to the World Cup in July.

Signed from Everton in 2022, the Winsford born player has been forced to play back up to the aforementioned Roebuck since moving to City but has been a regular in the England set up since her debut against Northern Ireland in February 2021.
