Manchester City have an almost full-strength squad for Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich.

The Blues trained on Monday ahead of the first leg, with Phil Foden the only absentee from the group. The England international recently underwent surgery to remove his appendix and is not expected back for another week or so.

Also included in the squad that trained on Monday was Erling Haaland, who moved onto 44 goals for the campaign with a brace against Southampton on Saturday. The Norwegian had been a doubt in the build-up to the encounter due to a groin injury but has fully recovered from the problem.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola seemed to hint in his pre-match press conference that he might start with Kyle Walker to handle Bayern’s rapid attackers at the Etihad, which could see a switch in the team’s defensive set-up and John Stones may push into centre-back.

As for Bayern, the German champions confirmed on Monday that Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting wouldn’t travel with the team to England, and he wasn’t named in Thomas Tuchel’s squad a few hours later. The former Stoke City forward has a knee problem and his absence means Bayern will be without their top scorer.

The only other players ruled out for Bayern are Manuel Neuer and Lucas Hernandez. Both players haven’t played since the World Cup break, with Neuer suffering a broken leg in December, while Hernandez ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in France’s opening match at the World Cup.

Ruled out: Foden (City); Neuer, Hernandez, Choupo-Moting (Bayern)
