Manchester City and Liverpool both approach Sunday’s huge Premier League clash at Anfield with injury doubts.

The champions picked up a fresh concern in midweek as Matheus Nunes suffered a finger injury in the 3-1 Champions League win over Copenhagen. The midfielder was replaced in the second half and Pep Guardiola said in his pre-match press conference ahead of Liverpool that he is unsure whether Nunes will be back in time, along with Jeremy Doku.

“We have a day off today - tomorrow we are training, and we will see how they feel,” Guardiola revealed on Friday.

Doku missed the Copenhagen game with a minor knock and Guardiola will hope the Belgian winger is available again with Jack Grealish out due to a groin injury.

As for Liverpool, their major concern ahead of the game is Ibrahima Konate. The centre-back hobbled out of the 5-1 win at Sparta Prague on Thursday and, despite an initially positive prognosis after the game, Jurgen Klopp revealed on Friday that he’s unsure whether Konate will be available.

“Ibou [Konate] I don't know," the Liverpool manager explained. "He was rather positive last night, thought he made the right decision at the moment but it doesn't mean a lot unfortunately. He will have a scan definitely and I don't have the results yet."

Joe Gomez was also replaced in Prague but will be available to face City, while Mohamed Salah is also expected to return. But Liverpool will be without 10 players for the potential title-decider.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Stefan Bajcetic and Curtis Jones are expected to be back after the March international break, but Alisson, Joel Matip, Thiago, Ryan Gravenberch, Diogo Jota and Ben Doak are long-term absences. Jayden Danns is also ruled out due to concussion protocols.

Doubts: Konate (Liverpool); Nunes, Doku (City) Out: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Bajcetic, Thiago, Jones, Gravenberch, Jota, Doak, Danns; Grealish (City).
