Manchester City will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they travel to Goodison Park on Saturday evening to take on Everton.

The match, which kicks-off at 5.30pm, will see Pep Guardiola’s side try and secure all three points in Merseyside after their 3-2 loss to Tottenham Hotspur last time out.

As for Everton, they slipped to a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Southampton last weekend, their second league defeat in three games under Frank Lampard.

The Toffees’ form in the top flight has been poor with only two wins in their last eight matches, leaving them just two points above the relegation zone.

The sides head into the game 15 places apart in the league, with City top of the table, while Everton sit 16th.

The Sky Blues have the better record against the Toffees in the Premier League. In their previous 49 meetings in the competition, City have won 22 of them, while Everton have 18 victories and honours have been shared evenly on nine occasions.

What’s the latest team news?

There were two changes made to the Sky Blues’ starting XI against Spurs with Kyle Walker and Ilkay Gundogan coming into the side.

Gabriel Jesus, Cole Palmer, Jack Grealish and Zack Steffan were all absent from their clash with Tottenham last weekend due to injury, but Guardiola confirmed in Friday’s press conference that Jesus and Grealish are back for this weekend’s game.

The Sky Blues will likely start with a 4-3-3 formation, although Guardiola has opted to use a 4-2-2-2 shape at times this season.

Everton have a number of players sidelined through injury with Tom Davies, Fabian Delph and Ben Godfrey all out with thigh problems, while Yerry Mina has a muscle issue.

However, there’s better news regarding Abdoulaye Doucoure and Demarai Gray, who Lampard confirmed on Friday have returned to training this week.

“Doucoure and Gray and are both training with us now and will be in the squad. Whether they start is an issue for me. Doucoure has been out for five weeks now,” said the ex-Chelsea midfielder.

“With Demarai, we have to make sure, coming into a game with the type of physical output needed to get the performance and potential result, it’s a big ask.

“I’ll have to decide whether they’re ready to start, but they’ve been training with us for the past two or three days. It’s good to have them back in the squad.”
