Sean Dyche has confirmed Amadou Onana could be back in time to face Manchester City this weekend.

The Everton midfielder has missed the last two games with a knee injury but is ‘back out on the grass’, the Toffees boss revealed ahead of Saturday’s 12:30pm kick-off at the Etihad.

Meanwhile, Dyche said Arnaut Danjuma, Andre Gomes and Abdoulaye Doucoure are all set to miss the trip to Manchester. "Not Doucs, not Danjuma, not Andre Gomes - he won’t be back," explained the ex-Burnley manager. “Doucs is on the grass. Not with us [the squad] but he is making good progress."

"On a better note, [Ashley] Youngy continues to get fully fit. Seamus [Coleman] would have had a full week's training with the team, which is good,” he added. The full-backs are both fit and played in last week’s 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur, but Dele Alli remains unavailable following groin surgery.

The list of absentees for this weekend’s game also includes Dyche, who was shown a yellow card last week and has earned a subsequent one-match ban from the technical area. “It's not the same as being at pitch level and having that connection with the team, but what's done is done,” admitted the 52-year-old.

The Toffees head into the game on the back of a six-game winless run in the league that has seen them drop into the relegation places. Everton did earn a point at the Etihad last season, but it was a rare slip up from Pep Guardiola against the Merseyside club, and City have won 12 of the last 14 meetings between the sides.
