Erling Haaland has travelled with the Manchester City squad ahead of tonight’s six-pointer clash against Arsenal. The defending champions were sweating on the striker’s fitness in the lead up to their trip to London.

Haaland was handed his 20th start in the Premier League during their 3-1 win over Aston Villa but was withdrawn at half-time after sustaining a knock to his ankle. Pep Guardiola went onto reveal that his substitution was a precaution ahead of tonight’s match, though his injury remained a concern.

Speaking in his press conference, Guardiola said: “We train this afternoon [Tuesday]. Right now I don’t know [if Haaland would be fit]. Yesterday was about recovery from Aston Villa. That’s all.”

Fans will now be delighted that Haaland has been spotted with the rest of the squad, though it is still unclear whether the Norwegian will be fit to start against the Gunners. The 22-year-old already has 25 goals in the top flight this season and will be looking to avoid making it three games without a goal if he features at the Emirates Stadium.

Man City certainly won’t be at too much of a loss if Haaland doesn’t start tonight, with Julian Alvarez likely to take his place in the starting line-up. The Argentine has four goals in the Premier League since joining in the summer and made his mark on the international stage when he lifted the World Cup trophy in December.

Man City could go top of the Premier League table tonight if they can beat Arsenal in the English capital. Defeat could leave them six points adrift with one game less than their rivals.
