Several other clubs - including Liverpool, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain - have all been linked with a move with City looking to refresh and revamp their attacking midfield options this summer, claim reports.

The Independent report: “Manchester City are one of a number of major European clubs considering a move for Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala in the summer, with the interest of the English champions more advanced than rivals. The 21-year-old has become one of the most highly-rated playmakers on the continent but wants guarantees about the German club's ability to compete, amid a frustrating season.”

His current contact with the German giants runs until 2026 and City are reported to be the ‘most interested’ in securing his signature this summer. The same report claims City are also keeping tabs on West Ham United's Lucas Paqueta and Crystal Palace's Michael Olise.

Latest news from Man City’s Premier League rivals

Manchester United fans are expecting a busy summer of recruitment as the club’s hierarchy, spearheaded by the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, respond to what has ultimately been a disappointing season.

The Red Devils have looked a shadow of the team that finished third last term and currently find themselves sixth in the Premier League table with just 49 points - 11 points fewer than the amount they had accumulated after 31 games last term - despite going further in both the League Cup and Europe. TeamTalk understands that the 13-time Premier League winners are keen to rectify the uncertainty in defence and the outlet claims that they have earmarked Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite as a top target for the summer.
