Campbell Hatton is backing Manchester City to make it back-to-back trebles - but thinks Pep Guardiola’s side won’t have it all their own way in the closing weeks of the season.

City are still battling on three fronts, competing with Liverpool and Arsenal for the Premier League title, drawing Real Madrid in the Champions League last eight and facing Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals.

While his full focus is on fight night this weekend, his attentions are then likely to turn towards City and what could be another historic campaign.

“It’s a weird one for me,” the 23-year-old said. “I think we’ll win it (the title). We’re not as good as last season, and I don’t think we’re going to be blowing any teams away like last season but I’m confident we’re going to get it done. I still think we’ll do a treble this year, I think we’ll do it again, but not look particularly good doing it.

"I think we’ll keep grinding wins out like we’ve been doing where we’ve not played our best and still got the wins. And that’s the sign of champions.”

Like his dad did with him, Campbell now takes daughter Lyla, five, to games at the Etihad. It’s a divided family though with uncle and trainer Matthew a huge United fan.

“I was going watching City in nappies,” said Campbell, unbeaten in 14 fights ahead of this weekend. “Lyla’s a little bit older so I took her to her first game. She’s got no option really in our family she’s got to be a blue. I’m not sure what happened with our Matthew and little Jack (his cousin, a talented amateur boxer), but she was always going to be a blue. I was at Maine Road at about six months old so yeah it was always going to happen eventually.”
