Manchester City will be looking to progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League for the second time in as many seasons when they travel to the Wanda Metropolitano to take on Atletico Madrid in their last-eight second-leg on Wednesday.

The match, which kicks-off at 8pm, will see Pep Guardiola’s side take a 1-0 aggregate lead into the fixture thanks to Kevin De Bruyne’s 70th-minute goal at the Etihad Stadium last week.

City come into the game off the back of a 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday, with the Sky Blues sitting one point ahead of the Reds in the Premier League with seven matches remaining,

As for Atletico, they were on the receiving end of a 1-0 defeat to Mallorca on Saturday, their second loss in as many games.

Diego Simeone’s side sit fourth in La Liga, three points off third-place Seville and second-place Barcelona, with the latter having a game in hand on Atletico.

What’s the latest team news?

City were without Ruben Dias and Cole Palmer for their clash with Liverpool on Sunday, but both could be options for the Premier League champions on Wednesday.

“He travels with us and the rest, all of them are fit,” Guardiola said about Dias, during Tuesday’s pre-match press conference.

Asked whether the defender could start, the City boss responded: “From the beginning, no. During the game, I don’t know.”

On Palmer, Guardiola explained: “It’s much better but I don’t think he will travel. Yesterday, he feels better. Today he’s training. We will see. If he feels fit, maybe he will travel.”

The Sky Blues will likely start with a 4-3-3 formation, although Guardiola has opted to use a 4-2-2-2 shape at times this season.

As for the hosts, they started with a 5-3-2 formation against City at the Etihad, while Simeone opted for a slightly different 3-5-2 shape against Mallorca.

Jose Gimenez and Hector Herrera have been absent through injury, and could be unavailable for the clash with Guardiola’s side.
