There were contrasting fortunes for Manchester City and Manchester United on an eventful weekend in the Premier League.
The Red Devils produced late heroics as Brentford looked set to extend their poor run of form by claiming all three points at Old Trafford. A Mathias Jensen strike put the Bees in front just after the midway point of the first-half but two injury-time strikes from United substitute Scott McTominay turned the game on its head and sent Erik ten Hag’s men into the international break on a high.
The same can not be said of cross-city rivals City after they suffered a defeat at title rivals Arsenal as a deflected effort from Gabriel Martinelli finally broke the deadlock eleven minutes from time and gave the Gunners a long-awaited win over Pep Guardiola’s side.
But what impact has that made on City and United’s chances of lifting the Premier League title come the end of the season?
