Over 83,000 supporters made their way to Wembley Stadium for a truly historic moment as Manchester City and Manchester United met in the FA Cup Final for the very first time.
It was the blue half of the city that was celebrating come 5pm after two stunning volleys from midfielder Ilkay Gundogan came either side of a Bruno Fernandes penalty as Pep Guardiola’s men completed a domestic double. City will now look to emulate their cross-city rivals by becoming only the second English club to complete a treble when they travel to Istanbul for next weekend’s Champions League Final clash with Serie A club Internazionale.
They make the trip on the back of a truly memorable occasion at Wembley as the blue and red halves of the city put on a stunning display of support for their clubs - and left a whole array of remarkable images to be captured during a fascinating cup final.
