It’s Father’s Day this Sunday and dads everywhere will be expecting the obligatory gifts of soap on a roap, socks and bottles of novelty beer. But if you fancy doing something a bit different for your dear dad there are plenty of fun activities to share in the city.

Festival loving fathers can head to Freight Island

Manchester’s cultural hub of food, drink and entertainment, Freight Island, is delighted to present a special Father’s Day programming with the return of its action-packed Better Days serieso on Sunday 18.

The city’s free to attend festival-inspired series continue to welcome world-class DJs. This Father’s Day, Better Days hosts Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip) for a DJ set alongside Fat Tony, Raw Silk, Scarlett O’Malley, and Freight Island’s residents.

Book before tomorrow and get a free pint at much loved pub Oxnoble.

If you are looking for a more traditional pub to celebrate Father’s Day, Oxnoble at 71 Liverpool Road offer traditonal Sunday lunches among other food and if you book before tomorrow (June 14) there’s a free pint of Birra Moretti in it for your pa.

Swap socks for beer

MOTLEY Manchester, the vibrant bar and restaurant located in YOTEL Manchester Deansgate is offering all dads to ditch their unwanted socks and score a complimentary pint while indulging in MOTLEY’s mouthwatering menu. The socks will then be gifted to acclaimed local homeless charity, Coffee4Craig.

Don’t go it alone – connect with other dads....

Mandem Meetup, which hosts meetup session every other Tuesday at The Village Hall at Great Northern Warehouse, is helping to combat loneliness, with a special Father’s Day meet-up.

On June 17, Mandem Meetup is inviting dads and their kids to meet at Longford Park in Stretford, simply to connect and enjoy each other’s company. The event will start at 11am lasting a couple of hours.
