Paddy McGuinness: Top Gear presenter ‘leaning’ on Kirsty Gallacher after split from wife of 11 years Christine

Paddy McGuiness has reportedly been receiving support from fellow TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher following the breakdown of his marriage last year.

The Top Gear presenter, 49, from Bolton, split from his wife Christine, 34, in July last year, after 11 years together and three children.

Scottish TV presenter, Kirsty Gallacher, 47, split from her former rugby player husband, Paul Sampson in 2015, after 16 years together and two sons.

In February, Paddy and Kirsty were reportedly spotted ‘getting cosy’ on a night out at the Ham Yard Hotel in London’s Soho.

An onlooker told The Mail on Sunday: "They were sitting together, laughing together and looking cosy. If you walked past them you would most certainly think they were on a date.”

The onlooker added: "They definitely looked like they would make a lovely couple."

Following these resorts, a source close to Paddy told OK! Magazine that the pair have been “leaning on each other” after their respective marriage break-ups.

The source revealed: "Paddy and Kirsty have known each other a long time and are good friends.They have a lot in common, they’re both single, and have gone through marriage splits.

"Kirsty is a bit of a shoulder for him to lean on and she’s good at giving advice.”

Kirsty previously confessed that the break-up of her marriage was “so traumatic” that it gave her PTSD, as she struggled to deal with the loss. However, she’s recently revealed that she now feels ready to start dating again.

Speaking with Closer magazine, the presenter gushed: "I’m currently dating! I’m not with anyone in particular right now, but I’m very open to something. That would be really lovely."

Meanwhile, Paddy’s estranged wife, Christine is set to release a documentary about the trials and tribulations of living with autism as all three of the children she shares with Paddy were diagnosed with the disorder.

In the film, she opens up about being in an unhappy marriage with her former husband. The Real Housewives of Cheshire star explained: "When I met my husband, that’s a time where I felt very safe, and I wonder if that’s why I stayed in that relationship for 15 years."

She added: "We’re separated now, and I know being a single woman, being a single parent is an extremely vulnerable place to be and it absolutely petrifies me, but that’s life."

The former couple first met in 2007 at a fashion show in Liverpool, where Christine was modelling. They started dating and Paddy went on to pop the question on Christmas Day the following year. They were then married in June 2011, and went on to have twins, Penelope and Leo, both nine, and seven-year-old Felicity.
