With the winter edition of Love Island set to hit our screens, we’ve got plenty to look forward to including the lavish Cape Town villa and a fresh, new host.

The last series of ITV2’s reality TV series, saw actress Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and business owner, Davide Sanclimenti crowned winners - and awarded a share of the £50,000 prize money.

The show’s new host, Maya Jama, 28, from Bristol, has arrived in South Africa and is preparing to join a new set of singletons as they take on weekly challenges and make their re-coupling choices.

As a fresh bunch of singles from across the UK have been announced as contestants, we take a look back at those from Manchester who previously entered the Love Island villa:

John & Tony Alberti (Series one)

Johnand Tony Alberti, now 36, were both property developers when they entered the villa, as the show’s first set of twins. After entering the villa on day 3, they failed to couple up and were dumped after three days. The twins are now influencers, and produce content about cooking traditional Italian dishes.

Malia Arkian (Series two)

Malia Arkian, now 33, was a make-up artist when she entered the villa on day seven as a ‘bombshell’.

She was removed from the villa on the same day, after a heated altercation with Kady McDermott, which involved spilled wine. The former reality TV star now keeps a very low profile and remains private on social media.

Scott Thomas (Series two)

Scott Thomas, now 34, was a club promoter when he first stepped into the villa in series two of Love Island. He initially coupled up with Zara Holland, but then coupled up with Kady McDermott for the duration of the show. They eventually finished in third place, and were together for a year before calling it quits in 2017.

Adam Jukes (Series two)

Adam Jukes, now 30, was a recruitment consultant when he entered the villa on day 34, initially he remained single until new blonde bombshell, Lauren Whiteside entered the villa. After seven days together they received the fewest public votes and were dumped from the villa.

Dom Lever (Series three)

Dom Lever, now 31, was a careers advisor when he first stepped into the villa in the starting line-up. Throughout the series, he coupled up with Montana Brown, Jessica Shears, and Tyla Carr. Once the series ended, Dom began a relationship with Jessica Shears and they got engaged after just three months. They are now married and live together with their two children in Devon.

Jordan Adefeyisan (Series four)

Jordan Adefeyisan, now 27, was a model when he joined the fourth series of Love Island, on day 26. He remained single, and was dumped from the villa after four days as he failed to couple up. After his stint on the show, Jordan returned to his full-time career in modelling, and regularly posts photoshoot snaps on his Instagram.

Tommy Fury (Series five)

Tommy Fury, now 23, was a professional boxer when he entered the villa in the fifth series of Love Island. He went on to couple up with Molly-Mae Hague and they remained together throughout the series, finishing in second place. The pair remained strong after the show and currently live together, and have a baby on the way.

Jordan Hames (Series five)

Jordan Hames, now 27, was a model when he joined the fifth series of Love Island on day 14. He coupled up with London girl, Anna Vakili, and they stayed together throughout the rest of the show. They had a heated argument just days after confirming their relationship status, when it was revealed that Jordan had developed feelings for India Reynolds.

Natalia Zoppa (Series six)

Natalia Zoppa, now 23, was a student and club promoter when she first stepped foot into the Love Island villa, in series six. She coupled up with Luke Mabbott and Jamie Clayton. But after just five days as a couple, they were voted the least compatible and were dumped from the villa. They went their separate ways after leaving the show.

Callum Jones (Series six)

Callum Jones, now 26, was a scaffolder when he entered the villa as part of the starting line-up in series six. He coupled up with Shaughna Phillips, but then chose to recouple with Molly Smith. On day 38, the safe islanders had to decide which couple to save, they chose to dump Molly and Callum.

Molly Smith (Series six)

Molly Smith, now 28, was a model when she joined the sixth series of Love Island on day 23. She coupled up with Callum Jones and remained with him until they were voted out and dumped by fellow islanders. Since leaving the villa together they have continued their relationship, and now live together with their two dogs.

Mike Boateng (Series six)

Mike Boateng, now 27, was a police officer when he joined the sixth series of Love Island. Throughout the series, he coupled up with Leanne Amaning, Sophie Piper, and Priscilla Anyabu. He remained with Pricilla until they were dumped from the villa, after leaving, they dated for 18 months before calling it quits.

Teddy Soares (Series seven)

Teddy Soares, now 28, was a senior financial consultant when he entered the seventh series of Love Island, on day 12. He coupled up with Faye Winter and for the duration of the show, they eventually finished in third place. They remained together after the show, and according to their Instagram profiles are still going strong.

Danny Bibby (Series seven)

Danny Bibby, now 26, was a plumber when he first stepped foot into the villa, on day 18 of the seventh series. After going on a few dates, Danny chose to couple up with Lucinda Strafford. But after just five days the girls chose to dump Danny from the island.

Davide Sanclimenti (Series eight)

Davide Sanclimenti, now 28, was a business owner when he entered the villa, as part of the starting line-up in the sixth series. After initially coupling up with Ekin-Su, he then coupled up with Gemma Owen and Antigoni Buxton. But returned to Ekin-Su and remained with her until the end, when they won the series. Since the show ended, they’ve made their relationship official and have moved in together.

Samuel Agbiji (Series eight)

Samuel Agbiji, now 22, was a model when he joined the eighth series of Love Island, on day 26. He entered Casa Amor alongside Billy Brown, Deji Adeniyi, George Tasker, Jack Keating and Josh Le Grove. However, after just five days, he failed to re-couple and was dumped from the villa.

Remi Lambert (Series eight)

Remi Lambert, now 22, was a model when he first stepped foot into the villa, on day 18 of the seventh series. Upon arrival, Remi was asked to choose three islanders to take on dates, he chose Indiyah Polack, Paige Thorne and Ekin-Su. Just three days later, he failed to couple up with anyone, and was dumped from the island.
