The hot temperatures are set to bring a chance of a thunderstorm to Manchester.

It’s been a hot week across the country so far, and Greater Manchester has not missed out. High temperatures of up towards 30C have given a real taste of summer, at a point where many of us thought we would miss out this year.

The hot weather does however have its consequences, and this comes in the form of a thunderstorm warning. The Met Office has issued this for large parts of the UK.  The yellow warning came into affect at 1am this morning (August 1). This will remain in place until 11.59pm tonight, meaning the chance of thunderstorms will be in place throughout the day.

At the moment, the day of the warning is likely to see a small chance of showers in the morning followed by sunshine and clouds throughout the day. The high temperature of 24C is a slight decrease on the 26C yesterday.
