Manchester weather: Met Office issues yellow warning for thunderstorms amid 'mini-heatwave' - full forecast

According to the Met Office temperatures will hit 27C in Manchester around late afternoon on Monday and hit as high as 28C on Wednesday. Thursday also looks nice and warm amid this ‘mini-heatwave’ - but there is now a warning in place for thunderstorms.

Hide AdThe warning that covers Greater Manchester and large parts of England, is in place from noon on Thursday until midnight. The Met Office says they ‘may lead to some disruption’.
What does the yellow Met Office warning mean?
According to the Met Office, this is what could happen on Thursday amid the thunderstorm warning.
- Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
- Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
- There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
- There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
- There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life
