Storm Babet has well and truly arrived in the UK, and Manchester has not been left untouched. A Met Office weather warning for rain is in place with heavy rain expected today.

The weather warning is set to expire early tomorrow morning. Saturday will be much calmer and drier and weekend plans should remain unaffected by the weather.

The latest forecast makes it look like a pretty wet Friday and Saturday across the region. There are set to be some breaks in the rain in the next 24-36 hours but these, at the moment, look brief. Sunday afternoon looks sunny and dry, and you may need to wait until then for some sunshine.
