The sunny spells of recent weeks will feel like a distant memory today as heavy rain hits Greater Manchester. Showers look to be set in for most of the day on Wednesday and the Met Office has issued weather warnings.
The weather service has issued two weather warnings that are in place across today and into Thursday, May 23. Both cover the Greater Manchester area with a yellow warning in place until 12pm tomorrow.

During this warning, the Met Office has warned that there could be delays and cancellations to train and bus services and there will be generally poor driving conditions. They’ve also said that power cuts in some areas may be possible.
The forecast shows heavy rain for most of the day and heading into tomorrow. Heavy rain will ease into light rain by 6am on May 23.
The weather has already forced the cancellation of a planned drone display to remember the 22 victims of the Manchester Arena attack on Wednesday’s seventh anniversary.
