Tram crash Manchester: Metrolink services disrupted after car in collision with tram
and live on Freeview channel 276
Trams services faced disruption after a collision between a car and a Metrolink tram on Wednesday evening (3 November).
The incident happened near the Velopark stop, on Ashton New Road, and firefighters helped to free four people from a Mercedes involved in the crash. They were taken to hospital but the extent of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.

Hide AdPhotos showed extensive damage to the front of the tram. GMP has been approached for further details on the collision.
The collision also resulted in some disruption to fans travelling to Manchester City’s Champions League game against Sevilla last night.
Additionally, not all Metrolink services are running today (Thursday 3 November) after bricks fell from a neighbouring construction site onto an overhead line.
TFGM said this morning there are no trams between Eccles (via MediaCityUK) and Cornbrook and while repairs are underway, disruption could last til the afternoon.

Hide AdThe TFGM website advised this morning: “Repairs are expected to last through the morning of Thursday 3 November. Please check back for updates.
“Ticket acceptance is in place on bus services 10, 18, 29, 33, 50, 52, 53, 67, 79, 100 for the Eccles line.
“In addition to public transport, there are several destinations on this line that can be easily reached by walking.”
