Northern has condemned an attack on one of its trains which saw a brick thrown at the driver’s window.

Yobs attacked a Northern service as it passed near Clifton on Friday night - covering the driver in shards of broken glass.

The driver had to be taken to hospital following the incident around 10pm.

Northern tweeted: “This is simply not acceptable and puts many lives at risk.

“BTP Greater Manchester are investigating and we are now offering a £1,000 reward to anyone who provides information that leads to a conviction following the incident. Anyone with information can contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40.”
