Metrolink warning with no trams to run between two major Manchester city centre stops for three weeks
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Track replacement work will get underway at Piccadilly Gardens later this month. The schedule for the work is from Tuesday August 27 to Tuesday September 17.

Hide AdThe work is part of a co-ordinated programme that has been carried out across the summer. During the works, trams will still operate between Piccadilly and Victoria via Piccadilly Gardens. However, there will be no trams between Piccadilly Gardens and St Peter’s Square. Some services will instead operate via Exchange Square.
A replacement bus service will operate between Piccadilly and Deansgate Castlefield. Signed walking routes for pedestrians will also be in place. Mosley Street will be closed between New York Street and Piccadilly Gardens, with buses that normally use this route being diverted via Portland Street. Essential vehicle access will be maintained to shops, businesses and retailers as required.

Pete Sommers, TfGM’s Network Director for Metrolink, said: “Thousands of journeys are made on Metrolink every day of the week, so it’s vitally important we’re always working to keep our passengers safe and Greater Manchester moving. Earlier phases of our summer works – at London Road, Shudehill and Market Street – have been successfully completed and at Piccadilly Gardens we will be doing everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum, with staff at key stops to help you, replacement bus services and signed diversions for pedestrians.
