The county of Greater Manchester is made up of ten boroughs, and is home to around three million people. Each pocket of the city-region consists of towns and villages with their own communities reflecting the area's diversity.

The variety of places to live in Greater Manchester means there are plenty of options when looking for a location to move to in the city-region.

In February this year, The Sunday Times revealed its list of the best places to live in the UK in 2023, and some areas in Greater Manchester were selected. The list included the city centre, Sale and Stockport as some of the most desired postcodes in the country.

We asked local people where they think is the best place to live in Manchester.
