It’s a Greater Manchester borough bursting with talent in the worlds of acting, music and more.
Rochdale may not have the huge football stadiums or shiny arts venues that the city of Manchester does, but it still punches above its weight when it comes to producing talent in many fields.
The borough has been home to future politicians, singers and Hollywood stars over the decades. Here are nine famous folk you may not have known were born in or grew up in Rochdale.

1. Steve Coogan
Comedian, writer and actor Steve left an indelible mark as hapless Alan Partridge in the hugely popular TV series, and has since gone on to act on the big screen in films including Philomena.

2. Colin Baker
