Helen Flanagan has revealed why she is wearing her engagement ring on I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, despite having split from Scott Sinclair months before filming.

The former Coronation Street actress, 32, is currently on TV screens as she takes on the first ever all-star edition of the popular reality show, following on from her seventh place finish in 2012.

Filming for I’m A Celebrity…South Africa, which debuted on Monday (24 April), took place in winter - months after Helen had split from Bristol Rovers footballer Scott.

Helen recently explained to OK Magazine that she was not ready at the time of production to speak publicly about their separation.

She said:  “We’d only just broken up, and I didn’t want everyone to be asking, ‘Where’s your ring?’.

“I didn’t want to talk about it… I wanted to keep it private for the kids, I didn’t want to be talking about it on the show. I did find that difficult, because I had all that going on in my head.”

Helen shares three children with the midfielder; seven-year-old Matilda, four-year-old Delilah and two-year-old Charlie. Scott got down on one knee to propose in front of the iconic castle at Disneyland Paris in 2018. The couple had taken their eldest Matilda on holiday, whilst Helen was pregnant with their second.

However, in October 2022, it was made public that they had called it quits on their 13-year relationship.

The actress and footballer continue to co-parent their children, and were recently seen holidaying in Dubai together. This sparked rumours that they had rekindled their relationship, however Helen has confirmed they will not be getting back together.
