In the days before cheap flights and package holidays, folk from Greater Manchester used to take their holidays at seaside resorts - and have a brilliant time.
Long before Ryanair was a thing and we had no clue where Ibiza was, we used to pack our buckets and spades and make sure we got to the beach early to secure a deckchair.
If you were lucky, you might also get a bag of chips and a ride on a donkey! Popular spots to visit in their heyday included Blackpool, Morecambe and Southport, which is featured here in our photo gallery.
