Paul Ryan: search called off for missing Manchester man after a body is found at Audenshaw Reservoir

Police say they have stood down a search for a man who had been missing from Manchester home for over two months, following the discovery of a body.

Paul Ryan, 50, was last seen on Manchester Road in Denton, near the junction which leads to the library, at around 9pm on Wednesday 1 December 2021.

CCTV showed Paul, from Denton, was in Asda on Cavendish Street, Ashton, earlier that evening.

Police said that a body was found at Audenshaw Reservoir on Thursday (3 March) and they were called there at 1pm. While formal identification has yet to take place, it is thought to be Paul and his family has been made aware.

A short GMP statement said: “There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances and a report is being prepared for HM Coroner.”
