Choosing a secondary school for your child is a big decision and most parents will choose to look round their top choices with their children and speak to teachers to get a feel for the school culture, ethos and facilities.
Many families also consider Ofsted results when making their selections and applying for a new place. With children across Greater Manchester finding out their offers on Wednesday 1 March, we took a look at which local schools currently have the top Ofsted rating of ‘Outstanding.’

If you are unhappy with a school place offer, you can contact the council in the area where the school is based to appeal.
1. Levenshulme High School
The secondary school was inspected in July 2022.
2. Xaverian College
The sixth form college in Lower Park Road, M14, was visited by Ofsted for a report in 2012.
3. Burnage Academy for Boys
The secondary school in Burnage Lane was rated in 2018.
4. Trinity CofE High School
The secondary school in Higher Cambridge Street, M15, was inspected in 2017.
