Oldham crash: 16-year-old girl killed as car mounts pavement on Rochdale Road

Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident in Oldham, with one arrest made.

A teenager has died after being hit by a car in Oldham.

GMP were called to Rochdale Road at 1.30pm on Thursday (23 February) after two cars collided. Police say one of the cars mounted the pavement and struck the 16-year-old girl at the junction with Crompton Street in Coldhurst.

Emergency services attended but the girl sadly died at the scene from her injuries. A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody for questioning.
