Oldham acid attack: e-fit released in Burlington Road probe

Police believe the victim was deliberately targeted by someone he knows.

Detectives have released an e-fit of a man they want to speak to following an attack with a ‘corrosive substance’ in Oldham.

Police were called to an address on Burlington Avenue to reports of a man injured by a substance believed to be acid, at 10.40pm on Wednesday 11 May.

The victim, 39, had liquid thrown at him when he answered the front door, by a man wielding a bottle who then ran off towards Manley Road.

It is thought another man was with him.

The injured man was treated at the scene by specialist paramedics before being taken to hospital for treatment to serious facial burns.

He’s since been discharged from hospital, suffering burns to his face, shoulder and chest.

GMP added it is thought he was deliberately targeted and the suspect knew the victim.

Police have not made any arrests but have produced an e-fit of a suspect they want to speak to.
