Man is arrested at Charing Cross station over Oldham false imprisonment allegation

A 29-year-old man was arrested at Charing Cross railway station in London in connection with a police investigation in Oldham.
Greater Manchester police were called out at 2.30pm on Sunday (30 January) reports a woman had been held against her will by a man.

Hide AdThe suspect fled by the time officers arrived but police acted on information he had boarded a train to London - and he was later arrested by Metropolitan Police at Charing Cross station.
A man is being held in custody on suspicion of false imprisonment and section 18 assault.
Officers are carrying out an investigation at an address on Ashton Road East, Oldham.
Chief Superintendent Chris Bowen, GMP’s Oldham district commander, said: “Thanks to the quick work of our CID branch, and the assistance of our colleagues at the Metropolitan Police, a potentially dangerous suspect is in custody.”
