Man dies after falling from bus stop onto Worsley Road North, Walkden, in hit and run incident

Police are appealing for information after the driver failed to stop at the scene.

A 32-year-old man has died after apparently falling onto a road after a ‘medical episode’, police have said.

The man was standing at bus stop at 10.30pm on Wednesday (20 July) when officers believe he became unwell and tumbled onto Worsley Road North, Walkden.

He was then struck by a vehicle which failed to stop at the scene.

Police said the vehicle continued northbound on Worsley Road in the direction of Bolton.

PC Horner of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are very much with the man’s family who are understandably devastated by the tragic event that occurred on Wednesday 20 July.

“We have launched an investigation into the circumstances of this incident and are appealing to anyone with information or dashcam and CCTV footage of the incident to contact officers in the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 quoting log 3710 20/07/2022
