Man, 21, charged over sexual assault reports on buses in Tameside

A man has been charged with four counts of sexual assault in Tameside.

Steven Collins, 21, of Pink Street, Burnley, Lancashire, was remanded into custody when he appeared at Tameside Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

He is due before Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on 29 April.

The alleged offences occurred between 17 November 2021 and 8 February 2022.

Greater Manchester police officers were called to three reports of women being sexually assaulted on buses, after starting their journey from Ashton-under-Lyne bus station.

In the fourth alleged incident, a woman reported being followed from the bus station and assaulted.
