Leigh arson attack: front door set alight on Maple Crescent

Police are probing an arson attack in Leigh at the weekend.

Four people went up to a house on Maple Crescent at 12.40am on Saturday (19 September ) and set the front door alight, before fleeing in a silver estate-style car.

No-one was hurt but the occupants were left shaken.

Detective Sergeant Will Hardman, of GMP Wigan’s CID, said: “This must have been frightening for the occupants of the property who, thankfully, managed to make their way to safety.

“Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and identify those responsible. Anyone with information should contact ourselves or Crimestoppers.”
