Javell Morgan: four charged following Moss Side murder probe in Manchester

Four men from Huddersfield have appeared in court accused of the murder of Javell Morgan in Moss Side.

Greater Manchester police were called to Claremont Road in Manchester, shortly after midnight on Monday 15 August, where they found Javell with serious injuries.

Javell, from West Yorkshire, was taken to hospital but pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

Four men have now been charged in relation to Javell’s death and appeared before Manchester & Salford Magistrates court today (Monday 22 August.)

Darius Blackburn, 20, Deontay Crosfield, 22, Jacob Doughty, 21, and Simeon Baptiste, 24, were all remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Crown court on Wednesday.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil Higginson said: "Our thoughts remain with Javell's family and friends at this heartbreaking time. Specially trained officers and support services are supporting Javell's loved ones.

"Our officers remain present to provide reassurance within the Moss Side community.

"We would urge the public to please contact us if you have any further information at all, any amount of information brings us one step closer to providing justice for Javell and his loved ones."
