Hosted by Ben Shephard, Chris Kamara and Rochelle Humes, Ninja Warrior UK is an obstacle course TV series inspired by Japanese programme Sasuka. 250 competitors from across the UK take on six obstacles in the first stage of the show in a bid to qualify for the later phases.

If contestants manage to get through the first round, they will take on an even tougher challenge with nine obstacles in a semi-final, and then there’s a grand final which is split into four different parts.

The series that is being filmed in Manchester this week is the sixth since its original release in April 2015.
