People wanting to really splash out on an expensive house in Manchester can now find out which neighbourhoods to target, thanks to new figures.
We’ve taken a look at data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to see which are the 10 areas of the city which commanded the highest average sale prices for homes.
The dataset as a whole shows how dramatically property prices vary across Manchester, with the average house in the most expensive neighbourhood, Chorlton South, being sold for more than double what buyers were looking at having to pay in Harpurhey North, the cheapest of the 57 areas Manchester is broken down into for purposes of statistical analysis.
The figures are based on new ONS analysis of HM Land Registry data on the prices paid for properties in the year up to September 2022. Nationally, the statistics show that property prices are continuing to rise.
Here we reveal the 10 priciest places in Manchester to be on the property ladder.
