House prices in Manchester: the 10 Manchester neighbourhoods with the cheapest homes including Gorton & Moston

That means that people looking to buy a home in a cost of living crisis will be scrutinising where the most affordable locations around them are. We’ve taken a look at official data to work out the 10 cheapest neighbourhoods across Manchester.

Average house prices vary dramatically across the different neighbourhoods of Manchester, according to new figures published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

The average price paid for a home in the cheapest neighbourhood, Harpurhey North, was less than half the amount an average property in the most expensive area, Chorlton South, would have set a buyer back. The figures are based on ONS analysis of HM Land Registry data on the prices paid for properties in the year up to September 2022.

So, here are the 10 areas of Manchester where potential buyers’ budgets will stretch furthest.
