We asked runners competing in the Greater Manchester Run’s 10K and half-marathon on Sunday for some of their last minute questions about what to expect on the day - here are some answers to help you have a smooth race. Good luck!

Will there be a warm-up and where?

Sadly not this year; organisers say there should be space to do individual stretches but there will be no organised group warm-up session.

Will there be bottled water provided and where are the stations?

There won’t be bottled water supplied at the start point to limit the environmental impact of the race - but you are welcome to bring your own water.

The 10K has two water stations on the route, off Ashton Old Road and near Manchester United’s stadium, as can be seen by the blue hydration icons on the map below here .

The half-marathon has four water stations, again marked by the ’hydration station’ icons on the map here.

And bottled water will be supplied at the finish line.

What about energy packs or gels?

There won’t be any free energy gels or packs this year but organisers say runners can carry them with them if they wish.

What is in the goodie bags at the finish line - and can I buy merchandise?

As well as your race medal, expect a finisher’s t-shirt, water, face mask for onward travel and other treats.

You can also buy run hoodies, bobble hats and more t-shirts. If you miss them on the day, you can order them afterwards at greatrun.org/results
