Posting on his LinkedIn while working Manchester City’s visit to Chelsea on Sunday, Neville said: “Delighted to join the NBC Sports team for the 24/25 Premier League season.”

It is not thought the move impacts Neville’s existing Sky commitments having been one of the broadcaster’s top pundits and co-commentators since joining during the 2011-12 season. His partnership with Jamie Carragher, Roy Keane and others has expanded into his The Overlap YouTube channel and Stick to Football podcast.

On the latest edition, Neville backed his former club for a top-four finish this season: “Injuries are the massive thing for Manchester United. The left back is a problem because if (Luke) Shaw is out the drop off is massive. I do think they’ll get into the top four if they stay clear of injuries.”
