David Beckham England boots to be auctioned - complete with unique feature that might annoy you

A pair of David Beckham's football boots stitched with an error are being sold - for up to £3,000.

'Goldenballs' donned the Adidas Predators for a pivotal England game in 1997. The Three Lions took on Italy in Rome needing a point to qualify for the 1998 World Cup - and battled to a 0-0 draw. The red, white and black boots were worn by Beckham for the game and have 'Beck's' stitched in the tongue - not 'Becks'.

The pair are being sold by Hansons Auctioneers on November 14 with a guide price of £2,000 to £3,000.

Charles Hanson, owner of the company, said: "David Beckham has long been one of England’s biggest superstars. But right now his profile is higher than ever due to the success of Netflix documentary, Beckham.

"Millions of viewers are fascinated by his life story and some are discovering how special he is for the first time. His showbiz lifestyle and success post-football keep him in the public eye but it all began thanks to his ability to kick a ball. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see his football boots surpass estimate - they’re a rare memento of a brilliant player."

A 1999 Manchester United short-sleeved home shirt with 'Beckham 7' on the back is also being sold in the lot. The large, Umbro shirt, new with tags, has 'Premiership Champions F.A. Cup Winners Champions League Winners 1998-99' stitched round the badge. It comes in at a cheaper estimate of around £80 to £100.
