Cheadle baby death: two women bailed after girl dies following ‘medical episode at nursery’

Police have issued an update following the tragic death of a youngster.

Police investigating the death of an eight-month-old baby girl in Stockport have now bailed two women.

GMP were called by paramedics to a report of a child suffering a medical episode at a nursery on Mellor Road in Cheadle, shortly before 3.20pm on Monday 9 May.

The girl was taken to hospital where she sadly died.

Greater Manchester Police said on Friday (13 May) that two women, aged 35 and 34, had been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter.

On Monday (16 May), a force spokesman confirmed the two women have been bailed pending further enquiries and that investigation continue. The child has not been named by police.
