Boy, 10, seriously injured in tram collision in Manchester

A 10-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after being struck by a tram while on his bike.

The incident happened at Droylsden Road in Audenshaw around 7.30pm on Wednesday night.

An air ambulance took him to hospital for treatment to a serious head injury.

Sgt Andrew Page, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This collision occurred early evening on a relatively busy road so we’re confident there are people who may have witnessed the collision or be holding information or footage that could greatly assist our inquiries.

“We would urge anyone who thinks they be able to assist to get in touch as a matter of urgency.”
