Bolton crash: man killed and woman seriously hurt in collision on Lever Edge Lane

A driver has been arrested after a passenger died when a car he was travelling in struck two parked vehicles.

The man who died was a front seat passenger in a Nissan which failed to stop for police on Lever Edge Lane, Bolton shortly after 2am yesterday morning (Sunday 2 October).

The Nissan then struck two parked vehicles.

A passenger in his 30s died and a woman who was also a passenger remains in hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, which police said was in ‘line with standard procedure’ as the police had tried to stop the Nissan before the incident.

The Nissan driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in hospital with serious injuries.
