Audenshaw crash: boy killed as car hits lamp-post in Droylsden Road - teenager arrested

A 16-year-old boy has died following a car crash in Audenshaw in Tameside.

Police were called at 8pm on Saturday (15 October) to a serious collision on Droylsden Road, near North Road.

Paramedics gave treatment at the scene but the 16-year-old boy, a passenger in the car, died a short time later from his injuries. His family is being supported by specialist officers.

GMP said two others suffered minor and serious injuries, while the 18-year-old driver of the white Vauxhall Corsa was arrested at the scene and remains in custody for questioning after treatment to his injuries.

GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is now appealing for anyone who may have seen the car or the collision in a busy area of Audenshaw during the evening to get in touch to help their investigation.

Officers want to speak to anyone who may have footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or CCTV/doorbell footage from the area in the moments before the collision took place.
