Manchester United and adidas Originals have released a stylish promo video for the new third kit 2024/25 featuring Irish actor Barry Keoghan.

Back in May, the Saltburn star was spotted filming the video on Mildred Street, not far from United’s old Cliff Training Ground which also stars in the video. Keoghan is a lifelong United fan and previously had ambitions to play football professionally.

The two-and-a-half minute clip features a whole host of United players, including Luke Shaw, Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, as well as women’s team fullback Gabby George. Legendary former players Bryan Robson, Denis Irwin and Jaap Stam also make an appearance. YouTuber Angry Ginge is also in the video.

There’s a distinct retro feel to the kit and promo video, which is also soundtracked by nineties trance classic Born Slippy by Underworld. The kit itself is inspired by the Red Army red, white and black flag, featuring the devil mascot. Throughout the clip, Keoghan recites a monologue about the passion, love and dedication players and fans have for the beautiful game.

United fans have been praising the kit and the sleek promo video online. One X user commented: “Man these kits are really really the big deal. This season Adidas cooked and we should bless this kit with trophies man. We gotta do.”

Another fan said: “Love this. The ad has only been live for 4 hours but already done more views than City's treble announcement!”

Filming in May came one week after Keoghan was spotted at Coachella in California watching singer and girlfriend Sabrina Carpenter perform. Speaking at the time, one Mildred Street resident said: "I thought it was really random. I saw him in Coachella last week and now he is in a shoddy street in Salford."

The new third kit is available to buy online via United Direct or at the Old Trafford Megastore.
